For removing minor burrs and dings from measuring instruments, freshly scraped and other precision machined surfaces.  Unlike other stone flattening methods that fracture the abrasive grains leaving sharp points at the surface, diamond wheel grinding cuts through the abrasive grains to form a smooth flat surface.  Compare the before and after grinding photos. They have no "bite" - only shearing off burrs that extend above a flat machined surface without disturbing the overall surface finish or geometry. Top quality - each stone is meticulously ground very flat to "hinge" properly , be as square as a clean Hermann Schmidt vise and parallel within a few tenths, as applicable.
